The Children’s Museum of Wilmington Hosts FREE Bi-Monthly "SensorySunday" on October 5th with AFL Autism Services

Wilmington, NC — September 17, 2025 — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is excited to collaborate with AFL Autism Services at their bi-monthly Sensory Sunday event on October 5th from 10am to 12pm.

Sensory Sunday is a reoccurring event offering sensory-friendly experiences for children with sensory sensitivities and their families. During this special opportunity, the Museum adjusts its standard operating procedures to accommodate children with varying sensory, developmental, and physical needs. Guests will experience the Museum in a unique way with fewer guests, light and sound reduction, and more. In addition to environment adjustments, the Museum offers free Power Packs containing sensory resources at the front desk that can be checked out by guests during the event.

Sensory Sunday has been hosted by the Children's Museum of Wilmington for several years and has continued to grow with the help from event sponsors like AFL Autism Services. Events like Sensory Sunday are essential to serve all the children in the community and their various needs.

AFL Autism Services will be present at the October 5th Sensory Sunday to engage Museum guests with a fun, sensory-sensitive activity. The event is free for all guests; tickets can be purchased at the door and capacity will be monitored by staff.
