The Children's Museum of Wilmington Hosts 18th Annual New Year’s Noon
Wilmington, NC — December 15, 2025 — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is preparing their 18th Annual New Year's Noon on Wednesday, December 31st from 9am to 12pm. New Year's Noon is Wilmington's signature family-friendly New Year's celebration, featuring creative festivities all morning long.
Guests that have previously attended the event will be familiar with classic activities, such as creating a collaborative art project based around 2025 and enjoying a juice toast and confetti toss at noon. This year's event will also feature new and returning favorites such as crafting a streamer stick, decorating a crown, and making paper fortune tellers that will give us a look into 2026. Also, guests and staff will work together during the event to create a time capsule that will not be opened again until 2035. With so many hands-on activities planned, littles will have the chance to play, laugh, and discover their way into 2026!
New Year's Noon was initially created by Museum staff after there were multiple requests in the community to offer a children-focused New Year's celebration at a reasonable hour; eighteen years later and New Year's Noon remains one of the largest and most beloved events offered by the Museum and the community. “We love celebrating the end of the year and the fresh start of a new year with families,” says long-time Museum Educator, Mary Ellen Laughnan. “We enjoy providing a fun way to celebrate without feeling pressure to stay up late--and the confetti toss is always a highlight of the day! It's such a festive morning at the Museum!"
Tickets are $5 for members and $15 for non-members and can be purchased at https://www.playwilmington.org/new-years-noon. It is recommended that all guests purchase tickets well in advance to ensure a spot to this one-of-a-kind festivity!
