The Children’s Museum of Wilmington Celebrates 28 Years with Guest Features from Jason Andre and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher

Wilmington, NC — October 3rd, 2025 —  On October 10, 2025, the Children’s Museum of Wilmington will celebrate 28 years of serving children in Southeastern North Carolina. The Children’s Museum of Wilmington was first established in 1997 to fulfill the need of providing hands-on learning opportunities for children in the community. After 28 years, the Museum has continued to serve Wilmington children and has grown to become the lead advocate of play in our region.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate,” says Jessie Goodwin, Executive Director of The Children’s Museum of Wilmington. “Inviting community partners to share this day showcases both who we serve and the collaborations that make our mission impact possible. We hope you will join us!”

The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is celebrating their 28th birthday with guest features from musician Jason Andre known for Sea Songs for Little Pirates and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher from 10am to 12pm. Guests will get the chance to learn about boat safety from a pirate and explore the wonders of marine life and our local coastal ecosystem. At the event, sweet treats will be provided by Food Lion.

Self proclaimed lifelong learner Jason Andre will be leading the Museum’s boat safety for kids program in full pirate attire. He shared what inspires his involvement, “I have always appreciated the hands-on approach that the Children’s Museum provides for the kids in our community. It’s extremely important to support organizations like CMoW that combine the arts and sciences, creating opportunities for children to learn by doing.”

The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is dedicated to planning meaningful educational opportunities for children and their birthday event is no exception. Guests will celebrate the legacy of the Museum by engaging with hands-on activities designed to promote art, science, and literacy-focused learning.
