The Children’s Museum of Wilmington Announces New Director of Advancement: Allan Lusk

Wilmington, NC — April 20, 2026 — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington (CMoW) is excited to officially announce Allan Lusk as their new Director of Advancement. Allan is joining the Museum’s team after 15 years of experience working in Family Entertainment through local professional and college sports teams; most recently, he served as the Director of Ticket Operations in the Athletics Department at UNCW and a semester as an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Tourism, Recreation, and Sport Department. Allan has an extensive background in outreach, revenue generation, and operations that will assist him in his new role. 

“Welcoming Allan to our team feels especially meaningful at this time,” said Jessie Goodwin, Executive Director at the Museum. “He brings genuine care for people and community, along with a thoughtful approach to building relationships. We look forward to seeing how he grows the impact CMoW has on our region and visitors.”  

Allan Lusk is an active and engaged member of the Wilmington community, with a particular focus on working with local nonprofits, community organizations, businesses, and families. Allan has been recognized by local organizations and news outlets for his community involvement; in 2022, he was selected as one of Cape Fear’s 40 under 40 by StarNews and the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, as well as being selected as the Executive of the Year in the Coastal Plain League in the same year. In addition to his career-based community involvement and acknowledgements, Allan also participates in the local Wilmington Business Community through Encounter Wilmington, and being a part of Port City Young Professionals, Wilmington’s Chamber of Commerce, the Wilmington Area Hospitality Association, a Encounter Wilmington, and The Wilmington Rotary Club, where he serves as chair for the Boys & Girls Homes committee and the Vocational Fellowship committee.

Allan’s extensive involvement with the community and career experience will assist him as he takes on the role of Director of Advancement at the Museum. As the Director of Advancement, Allan will help oversee fundraising, donor relations, and more, all while working with the organization’s leadership team to create initiatives that support the mission and values of The Children’s Museum of Wilmington. Allan will provide strategic leadership for the Museum’s development efforts, oversee relationship-building with donors and partners and guide the continued growth and coordination of the fundraising team.

As a new father, the mission of the Children’s Museum of Wilmington really hits home. The power of play and connection is something I see and continue to understand more deeply every day.
