Keep the Magic of Play Going

As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the laughter, learning, and countless moments of discovery that have filled the Children’s Museum of Wilmington. Every day here is a reminder of why play matters—and why your support makes all the difference.

We see it in the sparkle of curiosity in a child’s eyes as they build, pretend, create, and explore. We hear it in the words of teachers, parents, and caregivers who tell us how vital this space has become for the children they love.

Not long ago, a local kindergarten teacher wrote to us after bringing his class to the Museum. He shared how much his students need opportunities to play and learn—because in so many schools, time for imaginative play has all but disappeared. He told us that his students’ visit reminded him just how powerful hands-on learning can be, and how essential it is for children’s growth and development. He only wished they could come once a month.

Another caregiver told us about her daughter—a first-time kindergartener—who attended our summer camps to “practice paying attention and staying focused all day.” She said those playful weeks helped her daughter build confidence, make friends, and feel ready to take on her very first school year.

And every other month, our Sensory Sunday events open the Museum in a calmer, quieter way—lights softened, sounds lowered—for children and families who thrive with reduced sensory stimulation. These mornings have become a lifeline for families seeking a welcoming, inclusive space to explore together.

These stories remind us that play isn’t extra—it’s essential.

But the truth is, this magic can’t happen without you.

As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our community—especially during the final months of the year—to keep our doors open, our exhibits engaging, and our programs accessible to all. Your year-end gift helps us continue creating joyful spaces where children can grow, learn, and belong.

When you give to the Children’s Museum of Wilmington, you’re not just making a donation—you’re giving the gift of confidence, creativity, and connection. Because every child deserves a place where adventure awaits.

Slope is a fast-paced 3D running game where you control a rolling ball down a steep, endless slope. The challenge is to avoid obstacles, stay balanced, and react quickly as the speed increases. It tests your reflexes and precision.
