Wilmington, NC – October 13, 2025 - The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is gearing up for their EEK! Week Festival on Friday, October 31st from 9am to 12pm. The EEK! Week Festival is the Museum’s autumn celebration, replacing our Fall Festival, and will feature spooky and kooky activities for the whole family.
Guests can expect to engage with several themed Halloween and autumn activities including creating a potion in a cauldron, exploring pumpkin slime, and decorating a BOO!-kmark, all while celebrating the season in their best costumes. The fun will continue with a special guest feature from Halyburton Park who will bring a couple of creepy and crawly critters for children to learn about. The Museum will also be offering themed daily programs the week leading up to the EEK! Week Festival to drum up excitement for the event.
“We are excited to cap off a week of Halloween-themed programming with our EEK! Week Festival!” says Anna Harris, Program Coordinator at the Museum. “Come in your costumes and enjoy a morning of hands-on holiday fun featuring critters from Halyburton Park.”
The EEK! Week Festival is sponsored by Sylvan Learning Center; this is the second time the organization has sponsored an interactive event hosted by the Museum. “We want to give a special thank you to Sylvan Learning Center for helping us put on our EEK! Week Festival,” says Shea Ward, Assistant Educator at the Museum. “We are thrilled to be able to bring spooky fun to the Children’s Museum of Wilmington this year!”

About The Children's Museum of Wilmington
The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is a non-profit organization committed to inspiring creativity, exploration, and lifelong learning in children through hands-on exhibits, educational programs, and exciting events. The Museum serves as a hub for playful learning and community engagement for families across southeastern North Carolina.
Sylvan Learning Center is an organization focused on building academic confidence, igniting intellectual curiosity, and inspiring a love for learning. From math tutoring to reading and writing tutoring, the organization helps children build confidence, become eager to learn, and see real results in the classroom.

Such an entertaining and significant occasion, that! The Children's Museum Wilmington can never fail to deliver experiences that unite families as kids get to learn through play. It is pleasant to witness how the organizations are glorifying education this way. This actually makes me recall that learning is not about stress but about pleasure, and how this is the case, where people actually get tempted to pay someone to do my exam instead of studying it myself. Incidents such as this demonstrate that learning can be something to celebrate due to curiosity and creativity.
