Wilmington, NC — October 14, 2026 — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is preparing for a fun morning of Halloween festivities at their EEK! Week Festival on Saturday, October 31st from 9am to 12pm. The festival is returning for its second year and will feature engaging activities designed to get families in the spooky spirit.

Guests to EEK! Week Festival are encouraged to come dressed up in their favorite costumes and prepare for hands-on fun all morning. Littles will have the opportunity to decorate a BOO!-kmark, play with pumpkin slime, join our courtyard pumpkin party, and more all while exploring the Museum's signature interactive exhibits. Kiddos will collect treats and projects along the way that they can take home and enjoy with their family.

“Eek! Week Festival is a fun, family-friendly way to kick off your Halloween,” said Anna Harris, Program Coordinator at The Children’s Museum of Wilmington. “We hope you'll put on your best not-so-scary costume and join us for all the Halloween themed play we have in store!”

In addition to crafts, treats, and experiments, the Museum is excited to welcome Ken Hackney, local advocate for coastal snake management, education, and conservation. Mr. Hackney will be bringing in several slithery snakes for littles to learn about in a controlled environment. The Museum is excited to partner with Mr. Hackney to offer a low-stress and safe way for kiddos to interact with these unique critters.

The Museum is dedicated to offering fun events like EEK! Week Festival that foster positive and memorable childhood experiences. The Museum hopes families across the region can join the festival on October 31st for a kooky and spooky celebration. Tickets for EEK! Week Festival are $5 for members and $15 for non-members and can be purchased on the Museum's website: www.playwilmington.org/eek-week

Guests can join in even more Halloween fun at the Museum by participating in daily programming leading up to the festival. Please visit the Museum's daily programming page on their website for more information: www.playwilmington.org/daily-programs
