The Children's Museum of Wilmington Kicks Off the Summer with "Big Backyard Bash”!

Wilmington, NC – The Children's Museum of Wilmington is ecstatic for its summer celebration, Big Backyard Bash, on Saturday, June 7th, from 9 AM to 12 PM. Big Backyard Bash is returning for the first time in several years and will feature a morning of summer excitement for the whole family.

Museum guests will have the chance to play outside in the sun with an interactive water play area, a giant bubble creation station, and more! Any fans of the Museum’s previous summer event, “Mud Day” will find some of their favorite messy sensory elements returning as well! For guests that prefer the summer shade to the heat, indoor activities like mini-golf, creating solar bracelets, and an ice cream inspired craft. The Museum encourages all guests to bring a towel and a change of clothes.

“We're excited to celebrate the start of summer break with this event,” said Mary Ellen Laughnan, Museum Educator and Big Backyard Bash Event Planner. “We hope that families can come together for a morning of connection and fun, marking the beginning of an amazing summer!"

Highlights of the Event:

• Outdoor activities including water play, sensory bins, and giant bubbles

• Indoor activities including mini-golf and summer-themed crafts

Tickets are $5 for members and $15 for non-members and can be purchased at playwilmington.org/backyard-bash.
