The Children’s Museum of Wilmington Announces Plans to Reopen


DOWNTOWN WILMINGTON, NC - The Children’s Museum of Wilmington (CMoW) is excited to announce they will reopen to Members Only on Thursday, September 10th and Friday, September 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 50 percent capacity, and an online, advanced ticketing system. The Museum will be closed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 pm for cleaning and sanitizing. The Museum will be open to Members Only on Tuesday, September 15th through Saturday, September 19th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and at 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. CMoW will be closed on Sunday, September 20th and Monday, September 21st. The Museum will be open to the public on Tuesday, September 22nd through Saturday, September 26th. All Museum guests will need a ticket and a mask for everyone age 5 and over.

During this phase of reopening, some Museum exhibits will be closed or modified for the safety of all. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Museum has implemented safety features including new sanitizing stations located throughout the Museum. CMoW is committed to ensuring a safe, healthy environment for all. Improvements include, but are not limited to, a modified check-in process with a staff member outside to limit gathering at the front desk, new cleaning and sanitizing procedures in accordance with guidelines by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, limited contact during transaction by requiring tickets to be reserved/purchased ahead of time and only accepting debit/credit card purchases for drinks, the removal of high touch exhibit components, the installation of a sneeze guard at the front desk, and the purchase of an electrostatic sprayer to increase disinfection and sanitizing capabilities.
