Q: Does the museum have a parking lot?
No, the museum itself does not have its own parking lot. There is meter parking in front of the Museum along Orange Street. These meters accept credit cards as well as quarters, dimes, and nickels. On Second Street there is 1 hour parking with no meters.
The Hannah Block USO parking lot across the street from the Museum offers the following parking rates Hourly: $1.25 Daily: $7.00 Monthly: $50.00
The closest parking deck to the museum is located on Market Street between 2nd and Front. The First hour is free. The free blue trolley can pick you up and drop you off in front of the museum.
There is also free parking on several streets in the downtown area. Visit the City of Wilmington's website for more information about downtown Wilmington parking.
Q: If I leave can I come back?
Yes! Admission to the museum is good for the full day so please feel free to leave and explore downtown, grab lunch, or go home and take a nap then come back and play!
Q: Do you have a restaurant or snack bar?
We do not have a restaurant or a snack bar, but check out our Healthy Fresh Vending machine across from the front desk! It is filled with yummy healthy snacks! You are also welcome to bring a packed lunch and eat outside in our courtyard or in our multipurpose room!
Q: Do you have changing tables?
Yes! We have changing tables in all our bathrooms except the one in our science center.
Q: Is the museum wheelchair accessible?
Yes! The museum is both wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Q: Are daily programs included with admission?
Yes! All our programs are free with admission to the museum, so please feel free to join us!
Q: Am I required to accompany my child throughout the museum?
Yes, a parent or guardian must accompany their child throughout the museum. Guardians must be 18 years or older
Q: What are the best times to avoid crowds?
We understand that the museum can be a little overwhelming at times, especially when there is a field trip. To see all booked field trips click here.

Our ACM Reciprocal Membership includes half price admission in more than 150 children's museums in the United States! This is made possible through our affiliation with the Association of Children's Museums.

Q: What is offered for infants and toddlers?
We have a special exhibit just for infants and toddlers 0-4 years old called the Forest Friends Toddler Treehouse. This is a safe space separated from the rest of the exhibits designed especially for your baby and toddler.
We also have programs specifically designed for infants and toddlers.
Baby Play: Every Friday at 11:00 am

Preschool Storytime: Every Tuesday at 3:00 pm

Q:What is there to do at the museum?
The museum is home to 12 interactive exhibits for children of all ages to explore and play in. We also offer two daily programs Tuesday through Friday. Kids will have a chance to listen to some amazing stories, test some crazy science experiments, whip up something delicious in a cooking class, or create their very own masterpiece!
Q:Can I eat in the museum
We do not permit eating within the exhibits, but you are more than welcome to eat outside in our courtyard or in our multipurpose next to the art room!
