THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF WILMINGTON ACHIEVES
A POSITIVE CASH FLOW FROM OPERATIONS
APRIL 1, 2009 – MARCH 31, 2010
Wilmington, NC, April 6, 2010 - The Children's Museum of Wilmington announces positive cash flow from operations for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010. Since 2008, Museum leadership has reduced the operational budget by 72% and decreased expenses by 41% while increasing daily programming and adding monthly special events free with admission. With these changes, the Museum has doubled family Memberships and increased admissions by 20% to 52,000 annual visitors. “We are proud to have met this formidable goal and are grateful for generous donors who made it possible” stated Dr. Rick Lawson, Executive Director.
This level of support is a reaffirmation that The Children’s Museum Of Wilmington has both the vision and capacity to deliver on its potential and promise to make a difference in the lives of young families, children, and early education in Southeast North Carolina. “Becoming a supporter and investing in The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is a sound investment for our donors” says Sandy Spiers, 2009-2010 Board of Directors President.
We are deeply grateful for all the support we have received from our community thus far to make this transformative change possible for our Museum.
