Magnetic Minds Science Research Center

Here in our Magnetic Minds Science Center, children are given the freedom to develop their own path of inquiry with hands-on activities that promote learning through discovery and imagination.

Our goal is to provide children of all ages with opportunities to take part in facilitated and self initiated science projects. Children can utilize the space to examine and play with a variety of items, where they learn about the nature of science, different measurements to increase their ability to describe their world, conduct investigations and make observations to build an understanding of living organisms, weather concepts, solid earth materials, balance, weight, and plant growth. The Science Center is packed with quality informal learning experiences that are both fun and educational.

Visit and explore the Magnetic Minds Exhibit at The Children's Museum of Wilmington, supported by a generous grant from the International Paper Foundation. Forecast weather patterns on a real "green screen," see sound waves in the audio lab, see floating objects with the bernoulli principle, guess the constellations in the night sky, complete the latest FETCH challenge and so much more! The hands-on, interactive exhibits allow children to discover science in a fun new way! Our programs are continuously changing so check the calendar for updates.
