THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF WILMINGTON HAS PARTNERED

WITH A FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN

Wilmington, NC, August 12, 2009 – The Children’s Museum of Wilmington has partnered with the Language Workshop for Children at Accents on Fun to bring French and Spanish classes to the Museum as part of their continuing efforts to offer dynamic, high-quality programming to the community.

Children will attend classes in the Multi-purpose room at the Museum, and as part of the classroom experience teachers will utilize other Museum spaces by taking “field trips” within the Museum to help students learn language applicable to various exhibits, like the Grocery Store, Teddy Bear Hospital or Ahoy Wilmington’s pirate ship.

“We are excited to offer French and Spanish classes in such a nurturing environment with so many language-rich learning opportunities,” said Elizabeth DeBiasi, President of Accents on Fun.

“The emphasis on learning through structured play makes Accents on Fun a natural partner with the Museum,” commented Rick Lawson, the Museum’s Executive Director. “It’s an exciting new partnership that will bring another great experience to our visitors and offer something very different from other programs in the area.”

About Accents on Fun: For over 36 years, the Language Workshop for Children has taught foreign languages through structured play, songs, and other language-rich activities in New York City. Accents on Fun was created by Elizabeth and Steve DeBiasi to offer the same program of quality French and Spanish immersion programs for tots and children in Wilmington, NC. Utilizing the Thibaut Technique®, native-fluent teachers work with children 6 months through 9 years old.
